Information on the 3D Secure system

Since October 2008, banks and online merchants have started adopting the 3DSecure system for Internet payments.

What is that ?

3DSecure is called \ "Verified by Visa \" at Visa, and \ "SecureCode \" at Mastercard.

This system was invented to avoid CNP (Card No Present) type fraud, that is to say fraudulent payments by bank card without the actual presence of the card (stolen card numbers, for example).

General principle

The payment of purchases with a 3D Secure system takes place in 4 stages:
