Key steps to installing a professional shampoo unit

Installing a shampoo unit is a 4-step process: preparing the inlets, fixing the structure, connecting the water/drain, then pressure and watertightness tests. For a lasting and compliant result, the intervention of a professional plumber is recommended.

1) Prepare the location

• Power supply : hot and cold water inlet (12–16 mm depending on installation), accessible shut-off valve.
• Drainage : PVC Ø32–40 mm with siphon and water seal, slope ~1 cm/m.
• Electricity (if massage/leg rest options): dedicated wall socket with earth, suitable differential circuit breaker.
• Ergonomics : Leave ~70–80 cm behind the bowl for the operator, 20–30 cm at the sides. Allow for seat/work surface height.

2) Fix the structure

1. Position the base of the wash basin according to the layout plan.
2. Check the plumb line and stability ; drill and dowel (concrete/wood floor as appropriate).
3. Tighten the screws to the recommended torques (do not force the ceramic).

3) Connect water and drainage

• Thermostatic mixer : guarantees a stable temperature (comfort & safety). Bleed before connection.
• Shower hose : reinforced anti-twist model, new fiber/Teflon seal.
• Ceramic bowl : install the seal, connect the drain/siphon , check the bearings.
• Evacuation : regular slope, PVC/collar sealing depending on configuration.
• Pressure reducer (if >3 bars) to protect taps and hoses.

4) Final adjustments & tests

• Open the valves, bleed the air then check all the points (connections, drain, siphon).
• Adjust the tilt of the bowl and the headrest for the neck.
• Test the temperature at 38–40°C and the flow stability.

• Protect ceramic bearings; moderate tightening to avoid cracks.
